Where do the starting numbers come from?
Only three fields start filled in, and each has a source. Everything else starts empty because it depends on you.

We leave kWh empty on purpose. A small trailer in October and a fifth wheel running two air conditioners in August are very different bills, and any number we typed would be a guess. Use the kWh from your own past bills.
How to use the total
- Compare full totals, not rents. A park with electric included and a higher rent can cost less than a cheap site with a big meter bill, or the other way round.
- Fund repairs every month. Tires, seals, water heaters and slide motors do not send a warning. A monthly line in the budget keeps one bad week from wrecking it.
- Price winter and summer separately. Run the calculator twice: once with your January kWh and propane, once with your August kWh.

How do I calculate the monthly cost of living in an RV?
Add the park's charges (site rent and any metered electric) to every cost of the rig and your life in it: insurance, internet, phone, propane, fuel, food, mail forwarding, a loan payment if you have one, and a monthly repair fund. The calculator on this page adds those lines for you and shows the yearly total.
How do I estimate RV electric on a metered site?
Take the kWh from past bills for your own rig in the same season and multiply by the park's rate. At Inez Spring the rate is 17 cents per kWh on your own pedestal meter. We do not guess kWh for you, because the rig, its insulation and the weather decide the number.
Is living in an RV cheaper than a hotel?
Usually, for stays of a month or more. The federal standard lodging rate for fiscal 2027 is $113 a night, which is $3,390 for 30 nights. Put your own numbers in the calculator to see the difference for your rig.
