You have orders to Dyess and a report date. Now you need a bed, maybe a pet room, and a plan for the weeks before housing comes through. This page puts every kind of Dyess AFB lodging side by side, with published prices. For the military details at our park, see our Dyess AFB RV park page.
Quick answer: Dyess AFB lodging comes in four types. The on-base Dyess Inn has rooms from $99 a night. The Dyess FamCamp has 24 RV sites at $35 a night or $430 a month. Abilene hotels for official travel are reimbursed up to the $113 GSA standard rate for fiscal 2027. Off-base RV parks, like Inez Spring in Eastland, rent month to month from $500 plus metered electric.

Sources: Dyess FSS lodging and Dyess FSS FamCamp, read October 2026; fiscal 2027 GSA standard lodging rate. The 30 night totals are simple math on those rates, before taxes. Electric at Inez Spring is metered at 17 cents per kWh and depends on your rig and the weather, so we do not quote an average.
The Dyess Inn is the on-base lodging at 225 5th Street. The Force Support Squadron lists four room types: Visiting Quarters at $99, Temporary Lodging Facilities at $107, Distinguished Visiting Quarters at $107, and pet-friendly TLF rooms at $107 plus a $10 pet fee. It welcomes active duty, retirees, NAF employees, DoD civilians and sponsored guests. The front desk number is 325-696-2681, and hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Military OneSource Dyess listing adds the details that matter on a PCS. Rooms are first come, first served, so reserve the day you know you are coming. It lists 16 TLF units and eight pet rooms, a 30 day maximum stay, and lockbox check-in for late arrivals if you arrange it ahead. Pet rooms are in high demand, so line up boarding as a backup.
If you have an RV and an ID card, the FamCamp is the cheapest month on this page at $430. It has 24 full-hookup sites with 20, 30 and 50 amp electric, plus tent camping. Active duty can reserve 60 days out and other eligible users 30 days out. Pets must stay leashed, and quiet hours run 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Call 325-696-2402.
The catch is size. Twenty-four sites do not go far in summer PCS season, or when contractors on base projects are looking too. Get on the list early and have a backup ready. Our guide to RV parks near Dyess AFB lists the private parks in Abilene and Tye, with distances to the gate.
For official travel, the GSA standard lodging rate for fiscal 2027 is $113 a night. Check Taylor County in the GSA per diem lookup, then read your orders. Hotels set their own prices, and some weeks in Abilene run above the per diem.
On a PCS move within the United States, Temporary Lodging Expense covers part of your lodging and meals for up to 21 days, according to Military OneSource. That is not the same as a month. If base housing takes longer, the rest comes out of your pocket. Your finance office and DFAS have the current rules for your situation. We are not giving pay advice here, only pointing you to the people who can.
When the wait is longer than a few weeks and you have an RV. A month at the Dyess Inn or a hotel is about $3,000 or more. A month on an RV site is a fraction of that. The trade is distance and doing your own housekeeping.
Inez Spring Riverfront RV Park is at Exit 343 on I-20 in Eastland. Plan on about an hour to the Dyess gate in normal traffic, by our estimate, because the base is on the far side of Abilene. Here is what you get for it:
The honest total is site rent plus what your meter records. Our monthly RV sites page has the full terms.

For eligible ID holders with their own RV, the FamCamp at $430 a month is the lowest published number. Without an RV, the Dyess Inn and hotels cost about $3,000 or more for 30 nights. Off base, Inez Spring in Eastland is $500 a month for a back-in site, plus metered electric at 17 cents per kWh.
Plan on about an hour from Exit 343 in Eastland to the Dyess gate, our estimate for normal traffic. Abilene is about 50 minutes west on I-20, and the base sits on the far southwest side of the city. It is a longer commute than in-town options, in exchange for open monthly sites and a month to month term.
Book the Dyess Inn or the FamCamp the day you have orders. If the wait runs long, a month to month RV site keeps a roof over the family without a lease you will have to break.
$500 back-in or $650 pull-through, plus metered electric at 17 cents per kWh, $200 refundable deposit, month to month. See monthly RV sites or call (254) 629-1197 with your report date and rig length.
